Zoological Society of London and Forest Carbon develop REDD project concept to protect Tiger Habitat

Through the Berbak Carbon Initiative (BCI), the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) seeks to enhance the protection and management of large tracts of Sumatran Tiger habitat in Jambi, Sumatra. ZSL aims to achieve this through the generation of carbon credits through avoided deforestation and degradation and mitigating emissions from peat degradation and destruction. Forest Carbon has been advising on next steps and providing technical support for ZSL on the early development stages of the BCI since mid-2009.
